- Welcome -
You may be feeling overwhelmed, alone, not seen and not heard. I am here to listen and provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to express yourself freely and without fear. I aim to explore, side-by-side, the unique experiences of each client so that they can connect with their authentic selves.
About Me
I am a Person-Centred psychotherapist who holds an MA in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice from University of Nottingham and an MSc in Psychology of Mental Health from University of Edinburgh. I am bilingual and I provide therapy in both English and Turkish. I was born and raised in Istanbul in a multi-cultural family (Armenian & Turkish). I believe this has given me insight into the internal dynamics and the interactions between the minority and the majority cultures in a country.
Prior to starting my journey in psychology and psychotherapy, I was an engineer. I had trained and worked in many different settings from laboratories to the pharmaceutical sector. While processing difficult experiences in my own life I found therapy to be very valuable. My appreciation of the safe therapeutic space where I was listened to without judgement and my desire to form genuine connections led me to train as a psychotherapist.
My approach has you, the client, at its centre. In sessions, your needs and
what you want to share in that moment will guide us. I aim to create a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where an authentic encounter can happen. We will explore, side-by-side, your experiences, thoughts and feelings through active listening, accurate understanding and unconditional positive regard.
I also have a special interest in the mind-body connection due to personal
experiences with running and yoga practice. I am a strong believer in focusing on the well-being of the person as a whole, be it through breath, movement or art. As Martin Buber said “All real living is meeting” and I hope through our time together we will meet each other and you will meet with your authentic self; mind and body.
